  • Coaching is a vehicle for helping you achieve a higher level of well-being and performance in life and work, particularly when change is hard. Holistic wellness coaching includes all 8 aspects of wellness: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Social, Intellectual, Occupational, Environmental, and Financial.

  • Coaches look to collaborate and partner rather than act as experts who analyze, give advice, prescribe, recommend goals, or educate. Wellness is living your life consciously in ways that improve your health and wellbeing. A wellness coach helps their clients to develop sustainable strategies that bring a higher level of health and wellbeing to their lives.

  • During the first session, you’ll provide background information and your key concerns. We’ll create a vision, get clear on your values, and create a 3-month plan and goals to work towards that vision. The approach is highly personalized. The relationship is an alliance where we both are working towards a lasting lifestyle change.

    Each call via Zoom lasts 30-45 minutes, and your choice of a key topic will be explored. Clients set the agenda.

  • What makes wellness coaching different is not the topics they address but how they address them.

    A health coach is trained in empathy, motivational interviewing, and behavior change which helps people set realistic goals. We believe that the client is already an expert in their own life.

  • Both work with the art and science of facilitating change. However, therapists focus on conditions in the DSM V and assess, diagnose, and treat mental disorders.

    Health coaches do not diagnose. The methods used by therapists to work on these issues are more vigorous versions of what health coaching may employ in a more limited and circumscribed way.

    Health coaches focus on positive psychology, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and character strengths. Health coaches typically assist in accomplishing goals involving health habits, wellness, exercise, weight, nutrition, stress management, and more.

  • Each call via Zoom lasts 30-45 minutes, and your choice of a key topic that lines up with your goals and values will be explored.

  • It’s hard to do alone. We help you enhance self-motivation and self-regulation, leverage strengths, navigate a journey of change, and build other psychological resources needed to change for good.

  • It’s only covered by insurance if we work directly with a doctor that bills insurance. These services are not covered by insurance.

Sharyn Galindo - a holistic wellness coach and the founder of True North Wellness and
  • Sharyn Galindo opened up one of the first mind-body fitness studios in 1996, which grew to three locations. She is a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and holds a Master's in Holistic Nutrition and a certificate as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS).

    She teaches yoga, breath, and meditation and is a certified Search Inside Yourself Instructor, a program that began at Google, which combines mindfulness, neuroscience, and emotional intelligence. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
